The Office of Research and Outreach at Penn State Harrisburg is proud to announce Dr. Sayed Mohsin Reza as a recipient of the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) grant 2024. This program is dedicated to enhancing undergraduate research opportunities, enabling students to engage in hands-on research and scholarship under expert guidance.
Dr. Reza, an faculty member, will lead two groundbreaking projects as part of this initiative:
- NeuroAdaptive VR (NAVR): A Personalized Approach to Improve Peer Interaction of Youth Using Virtual Reality and Biofeedback

This project leverages the power of Virtual Reality (VR) and biofeedback to enhance peer interaction among youth. By integrating neuroadaptive technologies, the study aims to provide a personalized and immersive approach to improving social connections and interaction skills.
- Real-Time Energy Optimization Framework for a Community of Smart Solar Homes

Focusing on sustainability and energy efficiency, this research aims to develop a framework for optimizing energy usage in communities of smart solar homes. The project seeks to promote real-time solutions for reducing energy consumption while maximizing renewable energy utilization.
Through the REU program, students like Anmol Garg and Rizzie Lu will receive mentorship as they design their research questions, draft proposals, and present findings at the Research and Discovery Day poster session.
